Doug Clay serves as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God (AG) in the United States, a role he has held since his election at the 57th General Council in August 2017. As the chief executive officer of the General Council, he provides leadership to nearly 13,000 congregations and approximately three million adherents across the nation. Internationally, he serves as the vice chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, which encompasses over 69 million members worldwide.

Born into a lineage of Pentecostal ministers, Clay is a third-generation preacher's kid from Adrian, Michigan. He felt a divine calling to ministry early in life and pursued this path by attending Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, graduating in 1985. Throughout his ministry, Clay has held various leadership positions within the AG. He served as the national youth director (1995–1997), Ohio District youth director (1989–1995), and pastored Calvary Assembly of God in Toledo, Ohio (1997–2004). From 2004 to 2008, he was the superintendent of the Ohio District, after which he became the general treasurer of the AG, a position he held for nine years before his current appointment.

Clay is passionate about church health and is dedicated to equipping leaders to grow in their callings. He has authored books such as "Ordered Steps" and "Dreaming in 3D," reflecting his commitment to guiding individuals in their spiritual journeys. He and his wife, Gail, have two grown daughters and eight grandchildren.

In his leadership, Clay emphasizes the importance of biblical literacy, and a renewed commitment to missions. He is dedicated to ensuring that the Assemblies of God remains rooted in Scripture while effectively engaging with contemporary cultural challenges.

Dr. Allen Tennison serves as the Theological Counsel for the General Council of the Assemblies of God, where he also chairs the Commission on Doctrines and Practices. In this role, he provides theological guidance on doctrinal matters, ensuring that the Assemblies of God remains firmly rooted in biblical truth while engaging with contemporary issues. Prior to this, he served as the Dean of the College of Church Leadership at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he was instrumental in shaping future pastors and ministry leaders.

Dr. Tennison holds a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and has dedicated much of his career to teaching and theological research. An ordained Assemblies of God minister since 2011, he has emphasized the importance of theological literacy in ministry, advocating for a deep understanding of Scripture as essential for navigating cultural challenges and doctrinal clarity. His work seeks to bridge the gap between academic theology and practical ministry, equipping leaders to think critically and pastor effectively. Through his leadership, Dr. Tennison continues to influence the Assemblies of God movement, helping to shape its theological direction and commitment to Spirit-empowered ministry.

In May 1988, at the age of 15, Allen survived a tragic church bus accident caused by a drunk driver, resulting in the loss of 27 lives, including many youth from the congregation. This profound event deeply influenced his perspective on faith and ministry. Allen is married to Rhonda Vanbeber Tennison, an ordained minister who has served as a missionary associate in Romania and worked with at-risk youth in Los Angeles. Together, they have a son named Steele and also provide respite care as foster parents.
